The Kenya Sistahs: The Beginning
In November 2005 ten women from the Boston Area went on vacation to Kenya, East Africa.
When we returned to the United States we found that our lives were changed and we wanted to continue to make a difference
in the lives of the families and children of Kenya. This led to the creation of our group The Kenya Sistahs.
It all started when Licentiate Irma Thibodeaux, from Boston, MA returned from a two year experience as a Peace Corp volunteer
in Kenya East Africa and immediately starting thinking of returning. She solicit the help of Sarah Claytor of SAR-RAH Tours
in Boston, MA to design the trip. She identified the needs and projects, which became the foundation for our initial work.
